“No eligible recipient who has correctly followed the procedure will lose the “My Home II” program because of delays in notarial acts, inspections or market procedures,” emphasized the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, speaking about the progress of the “My Home II” program on SKAI’s “Mismatched” show. The minister also referred to the possibility of contracting already approved loans until the end of August, the “Home Accessibility” program and the Relocation program.

Michailidou on “My Home II”
Referring to “My Home II,” the Minister emphasized that it is one of the most substantial housing policy tools, as it gives young people and young couples the opportunity to acquire their first home with favorable financing terms. As she noted, the program has a budget of 2 billion euros, absorption reaches 89%, while approximately 11,500 contracts have already been completed, meaning thousands of beneficiaries have now secured home ownership.
Following citizen reports to the Ombudsman, the Minister noted that the government listened to society and proceeded with corrective intervention to protect those who have already been included in the program and are in intermediate stages. As she explained, the deadline of June 2, 2026 is linked to the binding milestones of the Recovery Fund and the need to record the number of beneficiaries proceeding with the program. For those who have already been included but will not manage to contract by then, the possibility of contracting is given until August 31, 2026, with national resources through the Hellenic Development Bank. This concerns approximately 3,000 beneficiaries who have advanced the procedure and need to complete the next steps.
The deadline
The Minister also reminded that the deadline for inclusion in the program remains until May 31, 2026. This means that by then, the beneficiary must have found property and submitted the required documents to the bank, along with the electronic identity of the property.
“No eligible recipient who has correctly followed the procedure will lose ‘My Home II’ because of delays in notarial acts, inspections or market procedures. Together with Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, we listened to citizens and the Ombudsman and provided a solution. Those who have been included in the program will have time until the end of August to complete the contracting,” stated Domna Michailidou.
“Home accessibility” program
From housing, the discussion moved to accessibility and the daily life of people with disabilities. The Minister referred to the “Home Accessibility” program, through which interventions in homes and professional spaces of people with disabilities are funded, with support up to 14,500 euros per beneficiary. 1,945 beneficiaries have been included in the program.
During program implementation, objective delays were identified, mainly due to ordering and delivery of specialized equipment from abroad, such as elevators. For this reason, the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family is proceeding with legislative regulation, so that those who have been included and faced delays not dependent on themselves can complete their interventions by September 30, 2026, with funding from national resources.
Relocation program
In closing, the Minister also referred to the Relocation program, which is expanding to new areas with the goal of supporting demographics and strengthening areas that need new population and economic activity. As she noted, the platform is expected to open at the end of June.
Through the program, support of 10,000 euros is provided for beneficiaries who choose to relocate to areas included in the new phase. The goal is for interested parties to be able to take advantage of this opportunity during the summer, with an intervention that connects social policy with demographic strengthening and regional cohesion.
