“We won’t go to elections because Mr. Androulakis is angry, nor will we go to elections because some people are now anxious,” emphasized Makis Voridis speaking on SKAI TV, noting however that the country is in its final year of governance before the pre-election period. As he characteristically stated, “you always know that the last year has increased nervousness and tension,” acknowledging the climate prevailing in the political scene.
Regarding the government’s stance on the OPEKEPE criminal proceedings from the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Voridis noted: “We have an absolutely unified stance on the issue. From the first moment we have said that what needs to be done is an evaluation of each criminal case separately, that there is no unified policy. Why? Because that would be, allow me to say, absolutely illogical. For the 13 cases, there are no truly factual alleged circumstances of each case that constitute something punishable.”
