Heated parliamentary clash between Konstantopoulou and Kairidis
It all started when Mr. Kairidis responded to opposition accusations about what is happening with the Global Sumud Flotilla. The “blue” parliamentary spokesperson spoke of an “element of theatricality” in the opposition’s views, and hastened to emphasize that what happened occurred in international waters, over which the government has no jurisdiction.
“How did you become a university professor while talking about international territorial waters?” the leader of Course of Freedom, Zoe Konstantopoulou, sarcastically remarked, with Dimitris Kairidis responding in similar tone. “Go back to your school desk to learn the difference between international and territorial waters, and then come here to give us lessons…,” the “blue” parliamentary spokesperson characteristically replied, describing it as “poorly performed” and “ugly” theater, due to pressure that the Course of Freedom leader receives from Maria Karystianou.
Furthermore, Mr. Kairidis referred to reports suggesting that Turkey is behind the organization of solidarity missions and added that he does not adopt these views.
