A tragic car accident occurred on the night of Friday, October 2, 2026, on the Athens-Patras National Highway, at the Corinth Delta in Corinth, leaving one person dead and five injured. The victim is a 26-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transferred to hospital.

According to information from korinthostv.gr, the private car driven by the 26-year-old — who had a 20-year-old woman and a minor as passengers — veered off course and collided with a second vehicle. The other car was carrying an 18-year-old driver and two additional 18-year-old passengers.
The collision was particularly violent, causing both vehicles to strike and shear through four roadside poles.
All six occupants of the two cars sustained injuries. The Corinth Fire Service was called in to rescue two of them, who were trapped inside the wreckage. All injured were transported to Corinth General Hospital.






Despite the efforts of doctors and nursing staff, the 26-year-old driver could not be saved and passed away shortly afterward from his injuries. The young man’s death has caused deep grief in the community, while authorities are investigating the circumstances and causes that led to the fatal crash. The Corinth Traffic Police department has taken charge of the preliminary investigation into the incident.
