Shocking news has emerged from Vouliagmeni beach, where an 82-year-old man died following an altercation with a 76-year-old man over a beach lounger. The man arrested in connection with the elderly man’s death spoke to Mega TV, claiming that he was the one who was attacked, and that the 82-year-old subsequently suffered a heart attack. “I didn’t hit him at all. He hit me. He had a heart attack and collapsed. It happened after a while, not immediately,” he stated.

Vouliagmeni: “He died over something stupid”
The wife of the 82-year-old also spoke out about the incident. “Suddenly, a couple — on a beach that was nearly empty — tried to take our loungers. The man attacked my husband. He punched him in the nose, and the other blows landed on his chest,” she said.
“By the time he reached Asklepieion Hospital, CPR had been performed on him continuously, and it continued for another hour inside the hospital. Tragically, at 10:45, my husband passed away. He died over something stupid, on an almost empty beach where there were 150 seats available,” she added.
Forensic findings expected to shed light on the case
According to reporter Chrysita Nikitaki, the testimonies of eyewitnesses and those involved are of particular importance, as are the forensic findings. The examination results are expected to clarify the exact cause of the 82-year-old’s death and the connection between his injuries and the events that preceded the altercation.
The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather further evidence regarding the precise sequence of events and the degree of involvement of each person implicated in the incident.
