New questions are emerging around the final hours of Giorgos Mazonakis at the medical clinic on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki, as investigators are now focusing on the communications between the 56-year-old doctor and a 62-year-old hypnotherapist. The lifting of telephone confidentiality is expected to provide more answers about exactly what was said during those critical minutes, the sequence of communications, and whether there were other individuals the doctor spoke with before paramedics arrived.
The mystery texts between the 56-year-old doctor and the hypnotherapist
Of particular significance is the fact that, according to Live News reporting, the doctor allegedly sent the hypnotherapist a photo of Giorgos Mazonakis while the singer was still at the clinic, with more than 5 messages exchanged between the two. Authorities are examining the content and timing of this communication, as well as why it took place before emergency services were called. The hypnotherapist himself, speaking to Live News, maintained that the reason for the communication is already part of the case file, while declining to reveal further details. “It’s none of the scenarios you’ve come up with. That’s all I can tell you. None of those scenarios. I can’t reveal it to you, but the reason why is in the case file,” the hypnotherapist stated.
The photo and the assurance that Mazonakis was still alive
One of the central questions concerns the photo the 62-year-old reportedly received from the doctor. He stated that he had been left with the impression that the singer was still alive. “The only thing I can tell you is that he appears to be alive in that photo, in my opinion. Right? That’s what I think. I mean, I can’t know for certain. I’m not a doctor. A doctor would say, but I was left with the assurance that he was alive.”
He then described the situation differently, saying he had reached out because he was expecting Giorgos Mazonakis for a scheduled appointment. “I had an appointment with him. What’s going on — is he coming? “Everything’s fine” with a heart emoji underneath. What are you supposed to think? I mean, come on! He was clearly fighting for his life. I don’t know what happened.“
According to what has become known, the singer had met with the hypnotherapist on Monday in Psychiko. On Tuesday, he visited the 56-year-old doctor’s clinic and scheduled a plasmapheresis session, then returned on Wednesday to undergo the treatment. After the clinic visit, he was due to travel to Kifissia, where he had a new appointment with the hypnotherapist. The 62-year-old also referred to that appointment, saying: “Damn the hour and the moment. I was the one who arranged the appointment. Me, me. We had started a conversation to take his medical history. We didn’t finish it and were going to continue taking his history on Wednesday. He had been a client for years — at least since ’15.“
Who is the hypnotherapist now at the center of the investigation
The 62-year-old states in his biography that he studied psychology in the United States before going on to work in hypnotherapy and regression therapy. Upon returning to Greece, he settled in Corfu, where he began conducting hypnosis sessions. People who claim to have known him previously in Corfu offer a very different picture of his professional background. “I was stunned when I saw him being referred to as a hypnotherapist. This man had absolutely nothing to do with what he’s presenting himself as. He had opened a shop in a central square here in the city and sold expensive clothes. Then he moved on to various other things — photography and the like. Maybe he went and studied afterwards. I really don’t know. Maybe I should go study to become a hypnotherapist myself,” one account states.
