An armed attack took place in the early hours of Monday in Patisia, when two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle opened fire on a man as he was leaving his home. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his lower limbs and was rushed to hospital.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m. at the intersection of Vrutou and Themou Aninou streets in Patisia, Athens.
According to initial reports, the victim is an Albanian national, born in 1971, who was stepping out of his home at the time of the attack.
Two unknown assailants approached him on a motorcycle and opened fire, wounding him in the lower limbs.
The man was picked up by an EKAB ambulance and transported to “G. Gennimatas” General Hospital.
At the scene of the attack, police officers recovered three shell casings and one bullet, which will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
The perpetrators fled on the motorcycle, and their motives for the armed attack remain unknown at this time.
