The city of Volos is mourning the death of a 56-year-old man in a road accident, made all the more heartbreaking by a tragic twist of fate — the middle-aged father was killed at the very same location where he had lost his 21-year-old son nearly two and a half years ago. The fatal crash occurred on the Volos–Dimini road.
According to reports from gegonota.news, the father of three was riding a motorcycle that collided with a truck on Friday, August 14. As detailed in the report, the truck apparently pulled out sideways onto the road without warning. The 56-year-old applied both brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision, lost control of his motorcycle, fell to the ground, and was run over by the heavy vehicle.
The unfortunate father was immediately transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he was found to have sustained serious injuries to his pelvis and lower limbs. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, he succumbed to uncontrollable internal bleeding that doctors were ultimately unable to stop.
