Unstable weather is expected across Greece during the Assumption Day holiday, with rain and showers forecast for western and eastern Thessaly, western Macedonia, Epirus, and the southern Peloponnese.

Arnautoglou’s weather forecast for Assumption Day through August 25
According to meteorologist Sakis Arnautoglou, strong northerly winds will blow from Thrace all the way down to Crete, with wind speeds reaching 7 Beaufort and gusts potentially hitting 9 Beaufort. Temperatures on Assumption Day will not exceed 32°C, with the mercury dropping to around 26°C across the Aegean islands and mountainous regions. From August 16 onward, conditions are expected to improve, with showers and rainfall gradually shifting eastward. For the remaining days through August 25, temperatures will trend upward — though a new heatwave cannot be ruled out.
