Nearly two weeks have passed since the day a family expected to experience one of the happiest moments of their lives — yet within just a few hours, everything turned into an unspeakable tragedy. On June 24, 35-year-old Anna was admitted to Livadeia Hospital to give birth to her second child. The delivery was completed, but shortly afterward she developed serious complications, making an emergency transfer to Thriasio Hospital necessary. Despite doctors’ efforts, her condition deteriorated rapidly and the 35-year-old passed away. She left behind her husband and their two young children. He is now faced with managing a loss he says he still cannot bring himself to believe, raising their children alone, and simultaneously searching for answers about the circumstances under which his wife lost her life.

Speaking to parapolitika.gr, he describes in heartbreaking words the pain he is living through, as well as his determination not to stop until he finds out exactly what happened. “What keeps me going is my children and the need to learn the whole truth about what happened. The pain doesn’t go away — you simply learn to live with it. And until justice is served, I will never stop fighting,” he says.
As he explains, there are moments when he still struggles to accept reality. “There are no words to describe what I feel and what I’m going through. At times I believe it isn’t real, that at some point all of this will end and she’ll come back home,” he says.
“I want my Anna’s soul to find peace — no one has reached out to me”
He makes clear that he is not seeking revenge, but answers. “I’m not asking for anything more than the truth to come out and justice to be served. So that my soul and my Anna’s soul can find peace — if someone truly is to blame for this,” he notes.
He also states that since the day he lost his wife, there has been no communication whatsoever from the hospital or her attending physician. When asked directly by parapolitika.gr, he replies: “No one has ever reached out to me.”
Meanwhile, the case is under investigation, with findings still pending that are expected to clarify the circumstances and cause of death of the 35-year-old mother. Until then, her husband says he is determined to continue his fight, driven by one single goal: to learn the whole truth about what happened and, if responsibility is established, to see justice done.
