Terrifying moments unfolded on Tuesday (23/06) at Pachi beach in Megara when a 14-year-old boy was swept away by powerful waves and strong winds, finding himself in serious danger at sea. The teenager’s mother jumped in and swam alongside him, desperately trying to reach her son and keep him from being alone. Beachgoers immediately alerted the authorities, triggering an emergency response from the Coast Guard. The alarm was finally called off when two men aboard an inflatable boat reached the boy and rescued both him and his mother.

Megara: The moment the 14-year-old swept out to sea was rescued
The entire rescue operation was captured frame by frame in a documentary video brought to light by Star channel. According to the report, the young boy — still wearing his life ring — had been carried off by strong winds and waves, drifting all the way to a small rocky islet approximately 800 meters from the shore at Pachi, Megara, while his mother swam alongside him throughout, refusing to leave his side.
The two volunteer rescuers first pulled the boy into the inflatable boat, then helped his mother aboard. Pavlos and his mother stepped ashore safely at Pachi harbour and made sure to personally thank everyone who had come to their aid.
