Images from inside the house where the brutal murder that shocked all of Greece took place in Chania have come to light. This is the property that Stavroula Leventaki had rented to the 43-year-old North Macedonian man, who confessed to police that he was the one who murdered the 45-year-old woman. This is the same house that the unfortunate 45-year-old visited on May 30th, where she met her tragic death.

Stavroula Leventaki: This is the house where she was tragically killed
Snapshots from inside the house were revealed by creta24.gr. This is where the 43-year-old self-confessed perpetrator murdered Stavroula Leventaki, with the circumstances of the unfortunate woman’s death described as shocking — a fact confirmed by the forensic examiner’s report.

According to the same source, security camera footage from a neighboring house captured Stavroula Leventaki in Chania just minutes before she arrived at the property where she would lose her life at the hands of the 43-year-old North Macedonian national. In the video, the 45-year-old is seen walking calmly toward the residence, carrying what appear to be shopping bags.
The suspect’s court hearing is scheduled for Friday
It is noted that the 43-year-old North Macedonian national faces charges of premeditated murder in a calm mental state, illegal possession and use of a firearm, computer fraud, unlicensed burial, and drug use. He was brought before a prosecutor and examining magistrate on Tuesday (June 23rd), requested and was granted an extension, and is set to give his statement on Friday (June 26th).
Regarding the separate case involving cannabis plants, he was released under restrictive conditions — including mandatory check-ins at the local police station every 15 days and a travel ban — however, due to the new arrest warrant, he remains in custody.
What the suspect’s lawyer said — “He is remorseful”
Meanwhile, the defense attorney for the 43-year-old, Giannis Trikoilis, commented on the case and confirmed that his client has already confessed to the act. According to him, based on the evidence gathered so far, the woman’s death allegedly occurred following a heated argument and physical altercation between the two parties. He also stated that his client is remorseful for his actions, pointing out that this regret is reflected in his decision to confess.
At the same time, Mr. Trikoilis expressed serious concern over the continuous leaking of information from the preliminary investigation stage, describing it as a violation of pre-trial confidentiality — a fundamental principle of criminal procedure.
He stressed that upholding procedural rules is an essential prerequisite for the functioning of a state governed by the rule of law, and underlined the need to protect the fundamental rights of all citizens, regardless of the nature of a case. According to him, adherence to established legal procedures is a cornerstone of the proper administration of justice.
