Rapid developments are expected in the disappearance case of 45-year-old Stavroula Leventaki in Chania, as authorities are now seriously examining the possibility of criminal activity.
As Giorgos Kalliakmanis told parapolitika.gr, significant developments may emerge within the day, including the possible issuance of a murder warrant against the property’s tenant — provided that blood traces found on the television are confirmed to belong to the missing woman.
“Within the day, we will have developments in the case, with a murder warrant being a real possibility, if the blood traces found on the television are confirmed to belong to the missing woman,” he said.
Kalliakmanis on the Stavroula Leventaki disappearance: “It’s incriminating that he was the last person to see her”
Giorgos Kalliakmanis also highlighted two key pieces of evidence that, according to him, weigh heavily against the tenant. As he noted to parapolitika.gr, the 43-year-old tenant of Stavroula Leventaki’s property in Chania was the last person reportedly seen with her before she disappeared. Authorities are also placing significant weight on the fact that he attempted to flee once he realized that the police investigation was closing in on him.
“Combined with the fact that he was the last person to see her and that he then disappeared himself, these are elements considered highly incriminating,” he stressed.
The evidence authorities are examining
Police continue to collect and analyze evidence from the 45-year-old woman’s home and the locations she visited before her disappearance.
At the center of the investigation are the blood traces found on the television set, an additional stain in the living room that appears to have been hastily cleaned, as well as findings from the tenant’s vehicle. Authorities believe that the results of the forensic examinations will be decisive in determining the direction of the case and the next legal steps.
