The president of SATA (Athens Taxi Owners Association), Thymios Lymperopoylos, launched a fierce attack on the Greek government on Thursday morning (18/06). Speaking on Parapolitika 90.1 radio during the program “Facing Microphones” with journalists Sotiris Xenakis and Vasilis Skouris, Lymperopoylos was first asked whether he had been in contact with the new Minister of Transport, responding that “neither the minister’s office nor the minister himself picks up the phone.”

“I expect nothing from this government, in the sense that since they voted for what I call the ‘destruction law,’ I believe they have nothing to offer,” Lymperopoylos added.
Thymios Lymperopoylos’s comment on the government
“Our daily contact with society is one single message — that this government needs to go, and fast. Because this is not a New Democracy government; it’s a group of globalist neoliberals that is cartelizing the entire society,” the SATA president stated.
Finally, when asked whether taxis would once again serve as campaign hubs ahead of the next elections, Lymperopoylos had this to say: “There’s no other way — it’s our obligation. We’ve put out an announcement that we’ll be distributing right up until the election: ‘The 18 wounds of Mitsotakis’s seven-year rule on the taxi industry.’ They have literally torn us apart. What has happened with the attack on public-use transport and the serving of private interests is shocking. This is cronyism — not politics,” Lymperopoylos concluded.
