The first clear signs of summer will make themselves felt across Greece in the coming days, according to STAR meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas. While the warmth is expected to last, there is currently no indication of a powerful heatwave on the horizon.

Kolydas on heatwave scenarios: Temperatures are climbing
More specifically, meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas provided a comprehensive outlook for weather conditions through the end of June, noting that Greece will be influenced by a mild warming trend that will be felt primarily across the country’s mainland regions.
According to the meteorologist, forecast data for the next two weeks points to above-average temperatures across the central and western Balkans, without any clear indication of a widespread or prolonged heatwave affecting Greece. Temperatures are expected to hover near or slightly above seasonal norms, with inland areas periodically recording higher values.
The most intense heat appears set to concentrate further west, across parts of central and western Europe. Despite the prevalence of warmer air masses, Greece is not entering a fully dry weather pattern.
As Thodoris Kolydas notes, the probability of localised showers and isolated thunderstorms remains elevated, particularly during the hottest hours of the day, with these weather events primarily affecting mountainous, inland, and northern regions.
Any rainfall is expected to be localised in nature and short-lived, without altering the overall summer character of the weather.
