The 65-year-old Italian man accused of murdering his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son in Aigio has requested and received a postponement to testify tomorrow, Saturday (13/06). Specifically, the defense attorneys for the 65-year-old requested and received another extension to study the case file in order to prepare their client’s testimony.
Aigio: 65-year-old Italian denies any involvement in double homicide
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old Italian continues to deny any involvement, claiming that mother and son “killed each other,” though he has failed to convince police investigators. As reported earlier by ERT, the 65-year-old maintains that “he didn’t commit the murders” and wasn’t the one who killed the woman and the 26-year-old, whom the accused called his “son.” He insists that he “didn’t notice anything” because he was sleeping, as he stated from the beginning, despite the fact that it was a small living space.
What is being investigated
However, police have not detected any suspicious activity from the single security camera at the location, nor any signs of forced entry into the house, leading them to conclude that the perpetrator is the 65-year-old.
According to estimates from officers handling the double murder investigation, a likely motive for his actions was the 26-year-old’s desire to take his mother to Germany for medical care due to health problems she was facing, something her partner apparently strongly opposed.
