In the Aegean Sea, an engagement occurred today Monday (25/05) between Greek fighter aircraft and a pair of Turkish F-16s. Specifically, after many months, the pilots of the Turkish aircraft that violated national airspace refused to comply with instructions and return to Turkish airspace, resulting in their engagement in a mock dogfight with the Greek alert aircraft that were “scrambled” to intercept them.

Turkish provocations in the Aegean: At least 10 violations of national airspace
According to data from the General Staff, today Monday, two armed Turkish F-16s and two Turkish reconnaissance aircraft type CN-235 entered the Athens FIR in the northeastern and southeastern Aegean without previously filing flight plans.
In addition to the mock dogfight, 4 air traffic violations and 10 violations of the 10 nautical mile national airspace were recorded (8 by the CN-235 aircraft and 2 by the Turkish F-16s).
