All eyes turned skyward this morning at the Venetian harbor of Chania. The RAF (Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team) aircraft, the aerobatic squadron of the Royal British Air Force, “tore through” the Chania sky, tracing the colors of the British flag – white, red, blue – with their daring aerial maneuvers.

The RAF air display, watched by hundreds of locals and visitors gathered at Chania’s Venetian harbor, took place as part of the 85th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Crete, whose events reach their climax today.
The spectacular display was witnessed by citizens and local authorities, as well as Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, who has been in Chania since yesterday for the anniversary celebration, accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence. It’s also worth noting that the government was represented by Deputy Defense Minister Thanasis Davakis and Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum Sevi Voloudaki.
