A day after he was remanded in custody, she describes how her father would lock her in the house and had reached the point of believing she wasn’t his daughter and that he was dealing with demons.
Social security office & courthouse attacks: 89-year-old’s daughter speaks devastatingly – Shocking statements
As she initially stated speaking on the “Morning” show: “It was a very sick situation. He would lock me in the house, until at some point I found a job and gradually left and went to live on my own.” Later, talking about another meeting they had, she said: “He called me and said ‘come meet me in Pylos for coffee.’ So I go to Pylos to have coffee, and he turns around and tells me ‘I discovered that you’re not my daughter’ and that ‘when I learned you came to Greece, I took a taxi and went to Athens to change the locks on the house.’ And I say ‘why?’ ‘Because you might go and set it on fire,’ he answered.”
Describing the difficult mental state her father had fallen into, she said: “When I saw him for the last time, I saw that he had deteriorated further, because he came to the house and started with the crazy talk ‘and you know, I came to tell you that the demons have become even more numerous’ and specifically he turns and tells me ‘I see the demons in your house.’ I couldn’t take it anymore. Since he didn’t want to go to doctors, didn’t want to have tests, didn’t want to do anything, I tell him ‘You know what? I see one demon in my house right now and that’s you.'”
In detail, the 89-year-old’s daughter said:
“In 1999 I stayed with him for a period of time, because I thought, okay, let me give it a chance now that I’m older to get to know him as a father. But it was a very sick situation. He would lock me in the house, until at some point I found a job and gradually left and went to live on my own.
He called me and said ‘come meet me in Pylos for coffee.’ So I go to Pylos to have coffee, and he turns around and tells me ‘I discovered that you’re not my daughter’ and that ‘when I learned you came to Greece, I took a taxi and went to Athens to change the locks on the house.’ And I say ‘why?’ ‘Because you might go and set it on fire,’ he told me.
So those people who said they were looking after him and caring for him, why didn’t they do something so that the situation wouldn’t reach the point it reached? If he had undergone some treatment for years with medication and been careful, he could very well have had a good life of his own and a good relationship with me. When I saw him for the last time and realized he had deteriorated further, because he came to the house and started with the crazy talk ‘and you know, I came to tell you that the demons have become even more numerous’ and specifically he turns and tells me ‘I see the demons in your house,’ I couldn’t take it anymore.
Since he didn’t want to go to doctors, didn’t want to have tests, didn’t want to do anything, I tell him ‘you know what? I see one demon in my house right now and that’s you.’ I don’t care. You can’t buy out a person or a person’s freedom for a house and property. Take them with you to the grave where you’re going. I personally don’t care.”
