A tragic turn of events has unfolded in the case of the brutal assault of a 27-year-old man in Giannitsa, as the young man, who had sustained serious injuries, has died. According to pellanews.gr, the victim had been hospitalized in critical condition at “Papageorgiou” Hospital in Thessaloniki, having suffered severe traumatic brain injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, August 29.

Giannitsa: 26-year-old suspect held in pre-trial detention
According to police authorities, the incident was preceded by a verbal altercation between the 27-year-old victim and a 26-year-old suspect at a nightclub bar in Giannitsa. The two men encountered each other again under unclear circumstances, at which point the 26-year-old allegedly punched the victim. The 27-year-old fell and sustained critical head injuries as a result of the impact. Despite medical intervention and the efforts of hospital staff, his condition proved irreversible, and he succumbed to his injuries.
