Rallies and marches are taking place from Friday morning (01/05) in Thessaloniki, as part of the May Day celebrations. Trade unions from the Workers’ Center of Thessaloniki and EDOTH/NT ADEDY are gathering outside the International Exhibition Center and will march to lay wreaths at the Workers’ Monument at Venizelos metro station.
The march of trade unions organized by PAME will also converge at the same location, following their rally which has already begun at the Eleftherios Venizelos statue. Pre-gatherings of trade unions took place at various points in central Thessaloniki.

At Kamara, at 11:00 a.m., primary trade unions from the private and public sectors, extra-parliamentary left parties, and anti-establishment groups called for a gathering of their members.
Public transportation is operating with security personnel due to OASTH workers’ participation in the May Day strike, while night bus line N1 KTEL – Airport routes will continue to operate. Metro stations “Venizelos,” “Agia Sophia,” “Sintrivani,” and “University” will remain closed from 09:00 to 16:00, while delays are expected on the line due to today’s strike mobilization.
