Criminal charges for a series of felonies and misdemeanors have been filed against the 89-year-old man who opened fire on Tuesday morning (28/4) at the EFKA social security office and the Athens courthouse, injuring five people.
Attacks on EFKA & Court of Appeal: Criminal charges filed against 89-year-old
The defendant was brought to the Evelpidon courts where criminal charges were filed against him for the following offenses: three felonies and a series of misdemeanor acts.
Specifically, he was charged with the following crimes:
- Attempted murder by series
- Aggravated case of illegal weapon possession within a judicial building
- Aggravated case of illegal firearm possession
- Continued weapon use
- Continued illegal weapon carrying for unlawful purposes
- Illegal possession of ammunition and cartridges
- Illegal possession of weapons including knives and replicas
- Continued disruption of public service operations and
- Threats to commit crimes.
The defendant was referred to an investigating judge from whom he is expected to request and receive a deadline for his testimony.
