Shock has gripped Kefalonia following the sudden death of 19-year-old Myrto in Argostoli, as authorities continue investigating multiple aspects of the case to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the tragedy. Police continue their investigations, seeking answers about what exactly happened during the young woman’s final hours.
Kefalonia: Father’s dialogue with 19-year-old before the fatal night
“They told us our child was found dead on the street. We’re searching for the truth. Our child wasn’t from the streets, she was a reserved girl, a two-meter tall little girl,” the girl’s father initially emphasized. “I found her warm but unconscious,” he stated characteristically while speaking to ANT1. “My child was innocent, she had no connection to all this. I know she’ll leave us now, I had a weakness for her. I was attached to her, I advised her, I did everything I could, but unfortunately I failed,” he added. He revealed they spoke for the last time before she went out that fatal night. “We talked yesterday evening before she went out. She asked me if she looked beautiful and I told her you’re a goddess, but you’re dressed a bit provocatively, and she went and changed. I told her to be careful, devils with angelic faces will appear before you…,” he said.

For her part, the girl’s mother describes the last communication she had with her daughter: “I spoke around 2:30 at night and I tell her ‘My little Myrto, please be careful. We love you so much, both dad and I.’ ‘I love you too, mommy,’ she tells me. A friend of hers who was with her had met a boy and he must have given her some drugs and abandoned her. That bastard sent a message after to her friend saying ‘we’ve left her,’ he says, ‘we’ve abandoned her.’ They abandoned my child. He told her in the message ‘we’ve left Myrto there alone.’ The ambulance found the child outside a souvlaki shop. She showed me the message, I read it and she tells me ‘now I’m going to the police to file a report.’ I know him and I had told her ‘my child,’ I tell her, ‘I don’t like him.’ ‘Come on mom,’ she tells me, ‘do you see everything I do as wrong?’ I tell her ‘my child, I don’t want to spoil things for you.’ She tells me ‘leave me alone mom. You see everything wrong’“.
