SKY Express delivered an impressive performance in the second quarter of 2026, recording strong growth in both revenue and international passenger traffic. Despite mounting fuel cost pressures, the airline is holding its ticket prices steady, while continuing to invest in expanding its network and fleet.
SKY Express official announcement
SKY Express posted exceptional figures for the second quarter of 2026, recording growth across all key operational indicators. During the April–June period, international passenger traffic surged by 29.7% and revenue from scheduled flights increased by 16.7%, compared to the same quarter in 2025. Total passenger traffic (excluding public service obligation flights – PSO) grew by 12.3%, while the total number of flights increased by 8.6%.
Strong boost from international markets
This momentum reflects the airline’s systematic efforts to attract travelers from new international markets, through an expanded network of partnerships and a targeted presence at key destinations. SKY Express’s international network now spans 27 destinations, with additional routes expected to be announced in the coming period.
At the same time, the airline’s total number of flights (also excluding PSO flights) grew by 8.6%, driven by consistent increases in flight frequency across a range of existing routes. This growth comes despite the pressure on international fuel prices caused by ongoing geopolitical developments. SKY Express continues to honor its commitment not to pass this energy cost burden on to passengers, keeping its ticket prices stable.
SKY Express enters the third quarter of 2026 — the most demanding peak season for Greek tourism — well-positioned to capitalize on sustained demand from both domestic and international markets. The airline continues to invest in its fleet, route network, and workforce, with the goal of translating this growth into tangible benefits for passengers: more choices, better service, and consistent reliability.
Skaltsa: SKY Express recorded strong growth across all key performance indicators
Commenting on the results, Mr. Gerasimos Skaltsa, Chief Commercial Officer of SKY Express, stated: “The second quarter of 2026 was marked by significant challenges for the aviation sector, with heightened geopolitical uncertainty and pressure on operating costs. Against this backdrop, SKY Express recorded strong growth across all its key indicators, reaffirming the momentum and consistency of our strategy. These results are the product of continuous effort, discipline, and the steady investments we have been implementing with commitment. The significant increase in international passenger traffic confirms that SKY Express has now become the first choice for a growing number of international travelers choosing to discover Greece. We continue on the same course, steadily strengthening SKY Express’s position and creating ever greater value for our passengers.”
