A bold entry into the hotel and tourism sector marks the next major business move for the AKTOR Group, as the construction company moves forward with a memorandum of cooperation with ONYX, which is investing €400,000,000 in the development of a high-specification mixed-use tourism complex in Sani, Halkidiki.

The project, officially titled “Agritourism Village with Mixed-Use Tourist Accommodation in Sani, Halkidiki,” is one of the largest development projects set to be delivered in Northern Greece in the coming years. The development will take place on privately owned land and includes — among other elements — a five-star hotel, tourist residences, shared facilities, infrastructure works, landscaping, and all associated installations.
The AKTOR Group will be responsible for, among other things, providing technical support services during the project preparation phase, reviewing designs for completeness and constructability, developing value engineering (VE) optimization proposals, and establishing the overall project schedule and implementation strategy through an Early Contractor’s Involvement (ECI) approach. Under the terms of the agreement, once this pre-construction phase is complete, the AKTOR Group will take on the execution of all primary construction works through to project completion and commissioning.
The investment plan, with a budget of €390,000,000–€400,000,000, will be developed on a 650-stremma (approximately 65-hectare) site in Sani, Halkidiki, and aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable, multi-dimensional development that integrates tourism, real estate, agri-food production, and green energy. ONYX has applied for the creation of a tourist village and a mixed-use tourist accommodation complex. According to the initial design, the tourist village will include 108 holiday homes for sale under the real estate component of the project, while the mixed-use accommodation will feature 428 bungalows, 120 suites, and — in a second phase — 120 luxury villas to be sold and subsequently made available for rental.
Beyond the tourism infrastructure, the investment incorporates a strong agri-food pillar that fundamentally sets this venture apart: “The goal is authentic agricultural production, without extensive horticultural interventions,” company sources note, adding that a large olive grove and vineyard — registered in the official viticulture registry — will be established on the site. The project will also include a distillery, a cultural museum, a beekeeping facility, and other related activities.
