A long-term, strategic, and binding agreement
Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties in the fourth quarter of 2025, GEK TERNA and Rheinmetall are now moving toward a long-term, strategically binding agreement. This agreement combines GEK TERNA’s leading position in critical infrastructure, energy, and complex industrial systems across Southeastern Europe with Rheinmetall’s world-class portfolio of land systems and defense technologies. At the same time, it establishes an industrial partnership of significant domestic added value — one that will strengthen national capabilities and generate vital expertise.
The two companies will pool their combined know-how to meet evolving operational requirements, with the goal of delivering reliable, high-quality integrated defense solutions while supporting the long-term development of Greece’s defense industrial ecosystem.
The partnership aims to support the Greek Armed Forces with cutting-edge capabilities, including new tactical land systems, as well as the upgrading of existing assets alongside full lifecycle support. It also seeks to systematically develop resilient industrial capabilities within Hellenic Army facilities, with the active involvement of Greek small and medium-sized enterprises. The overarching goal is to enhance Greece’s operational autonomy while maintaining critical defense capabilities at peak performance throughout their entire service life.
