After almost 40 years of successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, Zacharias Ragkousis is departing having served since 2017 as President and CEO of Pfizer Greece, Cyprus & Malta. The role of Pfizer Hellas was crucial in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as his contribution to the planning and implementation of Pfizer’s investment in Thessaloniki, which elevated Greece internationally. Mr. Ragkousis served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Pharmaceutical Companies of Greece (SFEE), (2019-2024) and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce since 2016.
Vasilis Tzinieris appointed new President & CEO of Pfizer Hellas from June 1st
Vasilis Tzinieris has 19 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He began his career at Wyeth and joined Pfizer Hellas after Pfizer’s acquisition of Wyeth in 2010, taking on the antimicrobial drugs portfolio. From 2018 – 2024 he served as Business Unit Lead for Greece, Cyprus, Malta of the Hospital division, responsible for introducing and distributing new, innovative antibiotic drugs in the Greek market. In 2024, he assumed the role of Primary Care Lead for Greece, Cyprus & Malta responsible for the complete portfolio of vaccines and antivirals of Pfizer Hellas, while in parallel in 2025 he also took over as head of the Health & Value department, a position he holds to this day.
During his career at Pfizer Hellas, Vasilis Tzinieris gained significant international experience participating in shaping the business strategy for launching Pfizer’s innovative drugs.
He is a graduate of Athens College, holds a degree and master’s degree from the Biology Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and an MBA from the Hellenic Management Association.

Throughout my journey in the pharmaceutical industry and through all positions I served with a sense of responsibility, my sole goal was to contribute so that the pharmaceutical industry, despite the high challenges it faces, continues to offer innovative medicines to all patients in Greece. I am certain that both Pfizer Hellas and the entire industry will continue to serve patients with even greater dedication and responsibility.”
