Authorities have found the black box of the Turkish military cargo aircraft, which crashed in eastern Georgia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced, adding that investigations continue to determine the cause of the accident. As Erdogan emphasized, a team consisting of 46 people was sent from Turkey to conduct search and rescue operations jointly with Georgian authorities.

Turkish cargo plane crash: Timeline of the deadly military incident
The C-130 had departed from Ganja in western Azerbaijan, bound for Turkey. It crashed yesterday afternoon, shortly after entering Georgian airspace.
The aircraft wreckage was located late yesterday afternoon at a distance of several kilometers from the border with Azerbaijan.
All 20 Turkish military personnel aboard the aircraft lost their lives. This represents the deadliest military incident for the Turkish armed forces since 2020.
C-130 Hercules are American military aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin and have been in production since the 1950s. They remain very popular worldwide.
