A serious incident occurred in San Francisco when a train operator fell asleep while on duty, causing the vehicle to reach high speeds and nearly collide with passing cars. One passenger suffered a concussion from the jarring motion and received first aid.
Security camera footage from inside the train shows the operator leaning back in her seat and falling asleep while the train moved uncontrolled. Behind her, two cars full of passengers were unaware that the vehicle was essentially driverless.
Passengers realized something was wrong when the train took a sharp turn, causing several to be thrown around and fall to the floor, creating panic inside the cars.

“I want to get off! My God, help!” screamed the terrified passengers. The jarring motion also woke up the operator, who slammed on the brakes to stop the train. Fortunately for everyone, the train stopped before hitting the passing cars. After catching her breath, she left her post to reassure the passengers.
“I’m sorry. Relax, relax, relax. We didn’t crash. Relax,” the frightened operator can be heard saying.
