Zelensky’s warning to Putin: “Russian attacks will not go unanswered”
Zelensky emphasized that aerial attacks are Russia’s primary “weapon” in the war and that strengthening Ukrainian air defense is critical for Kyiv’s victory. “Russian aerial attacks constitute Putin’s main weapon. He wants to compensate for his weakness on the ground with terrorism. Therefore, every reinforcement of our air defense brings us closer to the end of the war,” he stated. The Ukrainian president stressed that his country, together with its international partners, is building a reliable and joint air defense network capable of protecting not only Ukraine, but also its allies in the future. “Our security is indivisible; our air defense must protect everyone,” he said characteristically.
Discussions for further reinforcement
Zelensky revealed that new negotiations are underway for the supply of additional Patriot systems, both with governments and manufacturers. “More positive results will follow. Glory to Ukraine!,” he concluded.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s post
“We have strengthened our Ukrainian air defense with ‘Patriot.’ I thank Germany and personally Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz for this joint step to protect human lives from Russian terrorism. For quite some time we have been preparing this reinforcement of our air defense and now the agreements reached have been implemented.
I thank everyone who contributed to this effort! Russian air raids are Putin’s main stake in this war – through terrorism he tries to compensate for his inability to achieve his unreasonable goals on the ground. Therefore, every reinforcement of our air defense literally brings us closer to the end of the war we all await. The less Russia achieves, the greater its incentive will be to end the war.
Together with our partners, we continue to work on building a reliable air defense system. Our capabilities will be able to guarantee security not only for Ukraine, but also for our partners when needed. Our security is indivisible – which means our air defense must protect us all. Talks for further joint steps to strengthen air defense are ongoing – both at government level and directly with manufacturers of the necessary systems. Further results will follow. Glory to Ukraine!
