As part of creating a new alternative information and media ecosystem that reflects his worldview, American entrepreneur Elon Musk has launched a new Wikipedia-style site. This is Grokipedia, a website that provides articles and information written by Musk’s Grok AI. The structure of the new site is similar to that of Wikipedia, with a minimalist style.
The differences between Grokipedia and Wikipedia
It should be noted that, so far, Grokipedia is far more limited in content, with only 800,000 articles – compared to Wikipedia’s at least 7 million. Furthermore, it’s unclear to what extent human involvement will be possible in Grokipedia articles, as in the case of Wikipedia, where anyone can write and edit texts. However, users have the ability to send comments when they believe they have identified an error. “The goal of Grok and Grokipedia.com is truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. We will never be perfect, but we will continue striving toward that goal,” Musk wrote on X, later adding that he aspires to send copies of Grokipedia “etched on a stable oxide in orbit, on the Moon and on Mars, to preserve them for the future.”
