The distribution of heating oil officially begins on Wednesday, October 15, 2024, with initial prices ranging between 1.11 and 1.12 euros per liter. Although prices appear stable compared to last year, their final formation will depend on international energy markets and the euro-dollar exchange rate.

Heating oil: when the MyΘέρμανση platform opens for subsidies
The MyΘέρμανση electronic platform will be operational in early November, providing hundreds of thousands of Greek households the opportunity to apply for heating subsidies. This specific subsidy provides significant relief for family budgets, substantially reducing heating costs.
The first subsidy payments are scheduled for mid-December, with the process continuing until July 2026. The subsidy amount varies depending on the fuel each household uses and reaches up to 1,200 euros for the coldest geographical regions of Greece. It covers all types of fuel, from heating oil and natural gas to firewood.
Income criteria for heating oil subsidies
To qualify for heating subsidies, one must meet specific income and asset criteria. Total annual household income, including actual and deemed income, is set at up to 16,000 euros for single individuals and 24,000 euros for married couples, with an additional 5,000 euros for each child. Single-parent families have an income ceiling of 29,000 euros, which increases by 5,000 euros for each additional child after the first. Those engaged in business activities must not exceed gross revenues of 80,000 euros.
Asset criteria and real estate limits
The total value of real estate property is a determining factor for granting the subsidy. For single, widowed, or divorced individuals, the limit is set at 200,000 euros, while for married couples, civil union partners, and single-parent families it’s 260,000 euros. This amount increases by 40,000 euros for each dependent child.
