Once again, COSMOTE TELEKOM confirms the superiority of its network, recording significant distinctions for the speed and quality of mobile services. According to Speedtest™ by Ookla®, the COSMOTE TELEKOM network was named “Greece’s fastest mobile network” (Greece’s Fastest Mobile Network 2025) for the 9th consecutive year. Additionally, for Mobile Internet and voice services it received the “Best in Test” certification from umlaut, for the 11th consecutive year, a performance that only two networks worldwide have achieved to date.

COSMOTE TELEKOM: The fastest mobile network in Greece
According to Ookla data, the COSMOTE TELEKOM network maintained its strong position against the competition for the 9th consecutive year, achieving a Speed Score™ of 71.26, (2nd: 63.65 and 3rd: 59.76), with COSMOTE TELEKOM mobile subscribers enjoying, on average, 80% higher download speeds. Ookla’s data came from approximately 1.3 million measurements conducted under real conditions, by mobile network users themselves, during the first half of 2025, through the Speedtest® application. Top quality in voice and data services
The COSMOTE TELEKOM mobile network achieved the best performance in Greece overall, as well as in the individual evaluations of mobile internet and voice services, from the internationally recognized network measurement and testing company umlaut, receiving the “Best in Test” certification for the 11th consecutive year. The “Best in Test” certification is the result of a series of independent comparative measurements conducted by umlaut from May 7 to 26, 2025 in more than 30 large and small cities and major road axes of the country, as well as crowdsourcing data collected from December 2024 to May 2025. During the measurements, tests were performed on all popular mobile data and voice services and the final customer experience was recorded regarding reliability, voice quality, call establishment time, broadband 4G/5G connectivity, upload/download speed, internet browsing speed, seamless HD/UHD video viewing and response speed in OTT Voice apps and gaming. Historically high data traffic this summer
Thanks to its high quality and reliability, the COSMOTE TELEKOM network handled the particularly increased traffic of the summer. During the period June 1 – August 31, 2025, traffic reached 435 Petabytes, recording a 25% increase compared to 2024. Data traffic via 5G doubled compared to last year. The areas with the highest traffic were the Cyclades islands (Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Antiparos) and Chalkidiki (Kassandreia, West Sithonia). In the areas with the highest increase in 5G usage, the following stood out: Heraklion prefecture, Ilia prefecture, Kalavryta and Pelion (>200%). Finally, an 18% increase was recorded in the number of foreign visitors (roamers) who used the COSMOTE TELEKOM network compared to the summer of 2024.
