Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a fierce initial response following the official recognition of an independent Palestinian state earlier today by the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, categorically rejecting this initiative. Specifically, the Israeli prime minister stated decisively: “There will be no Palestinian state,” adding that Tel Aviv’s response to the recognition will be given after his return from the United States. Furthermore, Netanyahu mentioned that Israel will continue to expand into the West Bank.
Israeli Foreign Ministry: Rewards the greatest slaughter of Jews
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a categorical statement on Sunday (21.09), just hours after the official recognition of Palestine. Characteristically, the statement noted that Israel “categorically rejects” the recognition of the Palestinian state by the United Kingdom “and certain other countries.” Specifically, the ministry, through a post on X, denounced that the recognition by Britain, Canada and Australia “further destabilizes the region and undermines the chances of achieving a peaceful solution in the future.” At the same time, it condemned that the recognition of the state of Palestine “not only rewards the greatest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust by a terrorist organization that calls for and acts toward the extermination of Israel, but also strengthens the support that Hamas enjoys”. “The Palestinian Authority is part of the problem and not part of the solution,” Israel states. “Israel will not accept any fragmented and imaginary text that attempts to force it to accept unjustified borders,” the Foreign Ministry promises. “Political moves aimed at domestic electoral audiences only harm the Middle East and do not help. On the contrary, if the countries that signed this statement truly wish to stabilize the region, they should focus on pressuring Hamas to release the hostages and immediate demilitarization.”
