A 76-year-old man who lived isolated in a building without utilities, electricity and water since 2007, was found burned to death during the firefighting of the fire in Keratea.

Keratea fire: First details about the burned elderly man
According to SKAI’s report, regarding the elderly man, even his family had no contact with him, specifically his daughter who had no communication with him. The man who lived under these specific conditions in the area, was trapped by the flames near the point where the fire started and lost his life.

Absolute nightmare is being experienced since Friday afternoon (8/8) by residents of Keratea, who see the area being struck by a large wildfire. In a shocking video, an elderly woman in the Arina area can be heard shouting for a long time “my little forest is gone, it’s gone, last time I see you”.
According to the latest information, the fire front exceeds 7 kilometers, while houses that have already been surrendered to the flames are being recorded.
Strong forces in Keratea
It should be noted that in recent hours, forces at the Keratea fire have been strengthened and 260 firefighters are operating with 18 ground teams, 77 vehicles and numerous volunteers and volunteer vehicles, while the mobile operational center Olympos has been deployed for their coordination. For aerial firefighting, 13 aircraft and 15 helicopters were deployed, two of which are for coordination.
