Zelensky mentioned that he briefed the French president on his conversation yesterday with Donald Trump and European leaders. The Ukrainian president also noted that he received updates from Macron himself about the contacts he had in the morning, as well as those he has scheduled throughout the day.
“Much depends on wisdom”
“We are coordinating our positions and share a common view on the need for a unified European stance on critical security issues. Much depends on the wisdom and effectiveness of every step, both by Europe and America, now and in the future,” Zelensky stated on X.
The Ukrainian president reiterated that Kyiv is ready “for a real ceasefire,” but emphasized that Moscow has not yet given any clear public response. As he said, the coming days will be critical, as it will become clear whether Russia intends to continue undermining international peace efforts.
“We agreed that work at the level of advisors and leaders must deliver results. Discussions are not enough, we need results,” Zelensky added, noting that he will remain in contact with President Macron as well as other leaders throughout the day.
