A tragedy has struck Chalkida, as a 19-year-old died by suicide after jumping from the city’s High Bridge. Police and Coast Guard units rushed to the scene, along with an ambulance from the National Emergency Medical Service (EKAB), which transported the young man to hospital for the formal confirmation of death. The Greek Police (ELAS) are conducting an investigation into the incident.
