Five individuals are being charged for attempted extortion of a 36-year-old anti-drug officer in Western Attica and for threats against him and his family, including through social media. According to police, on June 19, 2025 and July 19, 2025, the accused, under the pretext of a personal matter, attempted to force him to pay €10,000 through face-to-face encounters, phone calls, and social media, threatening violence against his family and damage to his businesses.
Following an investigation and analysis of video evidence, the suspects were identified as perpetrators of the aforementioned crimes.

Subsequently, in the early hours of Saturday, August 2, 2025, a 27-year-old, 31-year-old, and 38-year-old were located by officers from the Extortion Unit in the Western Attica area, while it was discovered that the 35-year-old is incarcerated in a correctional facility and was on leave during the dates in question.
During subsequent searches, the 38-year-old was arrested after a 39-centimeter knife and a closed-circuit video recording device were found and confiscated at his residence, while €2,700 in cash was found in his possession.
It should be noted that the accused have been involved in numerous crimes in the past.
The arrested individual, along with the case file formed against him for weapons law violations, was brought before the competent prosecutor’s office, while the entire preliminary investigation material was submitted for the crimes of conspiracy to commit extortion and threatening behavior.
