Donald Trump announced on Friday (09/18) that he is banning — “effective immediately” — CNN, MSNOW, and Politico from accessing the White House. The U.S. president went on to warn that more media outlets would follow. In his post, Trump argued that media organizations should not be allowed to continuously publish fabrications and lies when covering the President of the United States, the Trump administration, or the U.S.
Trump’s post
Specifically, the American president wrote on Truth Social: “I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning CNN, MSNOW (which recently changed its name from MSNBC due to lack of ratings and credibility!) and Politico (the recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 million subscription — an all-time record — directly from the United States government, under ‘Crooked Joe’ Biden, in order to keep them ‘alive.’ Sounds like corruption to me!), from the White House, as a result of the continuous ‘broadcasting’ of FAKE NEWS! The media should not be allowed to continuously write or broadcast FANTASIES and LIES when covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. More fake news media will follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”.

For their part, the two American television networks, the news website, and the National Press Club did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
