The atmosphere at the port of Rhodes became sharply tense on Monday morning following the arrival of a cruise ship carrying more than 650 Israeli tourists to the island.

According to rodiaki, despite the tourist nature of the visit, their presence sparked reactions from gathered citizens who expressed their opposition to Israel’s policies and the events in Gaza.
From early morning, strict security measures had been implemented in the wider port area, with two riot police units deployed both inside and outside the facility to prevent any potential contact or clashes with the arriving tourists.
During the gathering, minor tension incidents occurred, while several individuals were detained by Greek police.
