A fatal road accident occurred just before midnight on a service road along Kifissos Avenue, in the traffic lane heading towards Lamia, near Aigaleo, claiming the life of a 46-year-old motorcyclist.
According to ERT, the 46-year-old rider was traveling along the Kifissos Avenue service road when, under circumstances that remain unclear, he lost control of his motorcycle. The bike then veered off course and crashed violently into the metal guardrails at the scene.
Rider pronounced dead at the scene
An ambulance from EKAV (National Emergency Medical Service) rushed to the scene immediately to assist the injured rider.
However, paramedics who arrived at the location found that the 46-year-old had already succumbed to the severe injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities have launched a preliminary investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. All possibilities are being examined as part of the inquiry, while investigators are gathering evidence to shed light on what caused the rider to lose control of his motorcycle.
