Specifically, a 40-year-old woman was found dead inside her home, while her 4-year-old daughter remained alive but shocked and dehydrated, lying next to the body for several days.
Horror in France: Little girl found lying next to her mother
The little girl was found dehydrated, lying next to her mother, who appears to have been dead for several days. The incident took place in the French town of Montagnac. The case “came to light” when relatives of the 40-year-old called the police, as they had not been in contact with her.
According to a report by Le Parisien, the 40-year-old was not answering phone calls, while her house remained locked. Police officers went to the apartment, where the woman lived alone with her young daughter, and entered through a window. There they found the mother’s body and, next to her, the 4-year-old girl. As stated by Béziers prosecutor Arnaud Faugère, the child was “visibly dehydrated and in a state of shock.”
The 40-year-old suffered from epilepsy
Local authorities are not currently considering the possibility of criminal activity. It should be noted, however, that the 40-year-old suffered from epilepsy. According to the prosecutor, they are examining the possibility that she lost her life from suffocation following a related seizure. The autopsy of the body is expected to shed light on the case.
