Kyriakos Pierrakakis crowned his contacts with the Secretary General of the French Presidency, Pierre-André Imbert, with his meeting at the Elysee Palace with Emmanuel Macron. The Eurogroup president and the French President discussed the major challenges facing Europe today, with emphasis on strengthening European economic competitiveness, defense financing, attracting investments, accelerating technological transition, as well as prospects for further strengthening Greek-French economic cooperation. Mr. Pierrakakis emphasized that Europe must move with greater speed, ambition and unity to strengthen its economic power, ensure its strategic autonomy and effectively respond to the challenges of the new era. Earlier, during the meeting with Mr. Imbert, the exceptional level of the Greek-French strategic relationship was confirmed, as well as the importance of close cooperation between Greece and France for promoting European priorities.
