The minor was seriously injured and transported by EKAB ambulance to Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital, where she is hospitalized fighting for her life. The vehicle driver is a 31-year-old Greek citizen, while authorities are also seeking the child’s guardian for negligent supervision of a minor.
A few hours earlier, at 4:45 PM, in the Aspropyrgos area specifically at the intersection of NATO Avenue with Thrasyvoulou Street, a 75-year-old pedestrian was struck by a truck driven by a 54-year-old Bulgarian national. The elderly man was transported severely injured to Thriasio Hospital, where despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The same day, another pedestrian strike ended in tragedy in Afidnes. At 6:10 PM, on Tyrtaios Avenue, a pickup truck struck an elderly woman under circumstances being investigated. The woman was transported seriously injured to KAT hospital, however doctors were unable to keep her alive.
