The 3-year-old girl was transported to Chania hospital just days ago with seizures, and continues to be hospitalized on a ventilator in extremely critical condition in the pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) of Heraklion University Hospital (PAGNI).
Chania: How the 3-year-old abused girl was transported, remains on ventilator in ICU
Emergency department doctors at Chania Hospital admitted the 3-year-old girl to the pediatric clinic, where pediatricians discovered that the seizures persisted despite administering anti-epileptic medications.
Suspicious pediatric clinic doctors at Chania Hospital, having already observed that the 3-year-old girl had bruises and scratches covering her entire body, requested and performed a CT scan, which revealed brain hematoma and other injuries.
As a result, doctors and Chania Hospital administration immediately called both the Greek Police, who arrived led by an officer at the facility, and an ambulance from the National Emergency Medical Service (EKAB), so the 3-year-old girl could be transferred to the pediatric ICU at PAGNI, where she continues to be hospitalized on a ventilator in extremely critical condition.
