The offering of fixed telephony services as an additional option (add-on) allows users to customize their own communication package that best meets their needs, without being burdened with services they don’t wish to use. This is highlighted by DEH in an announcement regarding the new internet and telephony service “packages” that have been available since yesterday in areas where the company’s telecommunications network has been deployed. DEH’s expansion into fixed telephony comes while the company’s share capital increase is underway, with demand exceeding the requested capital of 4 billion euros by 4 times. The process concludes today, while the share pricing will be determined tomorrow.

The additional service costs 4 euros per month and includes unlimited calls to national fixed and mobile lines. There’s an option to add an extra 1,000 minutes for international calls to fixed lines in 35 selected destinations, bringing the price to 10 euros per month. A prerequisite for acquiring the additional fixed telephony services is having an internet connection on a DEH Fiber program.
DEH’s new internet and phone packages
DEH Fiber is available in three internet programs, with speeds of 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps at prices of 17.90 euros, 19.90 euros and 52.90 euros respectively. They are based on 100% fiber optic to the home (FTTH) and offer guaranteed ultra-high speeds.
DEH also notes that:
-The new additional fixed telephony services use Voice Over Broadband (VoBB) technology, utilizing DEH’s proprietary fiber optic network, without using older copper infrastructure. The fiber optic network ensures stable and predictable service operation.
-The telephony service has been designed with prioritization mechanisms that ensure voice traffic is served with absolute priority throughout the entire network path.
-Full interoperability with national and international telephone networks is supported, while the overall infrastructure has been designed for long-term scalability and support of future services.
-The service supports all basic telephony functions, such as caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, three-way calling and emergency calls (112, 100, 166 etc.), while also providing number portability without service interruption.
-Service activation is performed easily, without need for additional equipment, utilizing existing DEH Fiber equipment. Existing subscribers can activate the service with a simple application by simply connecting their telephone device to the equipment they already have.
-DEH FiberGrid’s fiber optic network has passed 1.8 million households and businesses, of which 1 million in 42 areas of the country are ready for immediate connection. DEH FiberGrid’s strategic network development plan provides for coverage of 3.8 million households and businesses by 2028.
