A message that the country is already in an “extended pre-election period” and that “no one is allowed to be absent” was sent by Development Minister Takis Theodwrikakos, one day after the New Democracy Parliamentary Group meeting.
Speaking to SKAI TV, Mr. Theodwrikakos characterized the Parliamentary Group meeting as “extremely positive,” noting that it is legitimate to have different views and criticism, however the discussion moved in a productive climate. “My perception is that we have entered an extended pre-election period. I estimate that the next electoral contest will be crucial for the country’s future,” he said characteristically, indirectly emphasizing the need for unity and active presence of all officials.
“I said that in this battle no one is allowed to be absent, whoever is missing from the battle will bear responsibility. I hope no one will be missing from the battle,” the Development Minister meaningfully added.
Regarding Constitutional Review, Takis Theodwrikakos said “my view is that someone cannot be a candidate for parliament at 21 years old, you don’t have work experience, you don’t have a basic degree, you may not have done military service.”
