President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced today that Ukraine will continue to expand the range of its strikes against Russia, posting footage from an attack targeting, according to him, a facility located more than 1,500 kilometers away. Ukraine has intensified its attacks inside Russia in recent weeks, aiming to destroy oil refineries, storage facilities, and ports to strike Moscow’s major funding source for the war in Ukraine as global prices rise due to the conflict in Iran.

Zelenskyy: “New stage in using Ukrainian weapons”
Zelenskyy wrote on X that his country’s security service reported a successful strike deep inside Russia, calling it “a new stage in the use of Ukrainian weapons to limit the potential of Russia’s war.”
A report by Major General Yevhenii Khmara on our long-range sanctions – a new stage in the use of Ukrainian weapons to limit the potential of Russia’s war. I am grateful to the guys from the Security Service of Ukraine for their precision.

The Ukrainian president posted a video showing smoke rising into the sky but did not specify which target was hit.
“The straight-line distance is over 1,500 kilometers. We will continue to extend these ranges,” he added.
Ukraine’s Security Service, the SBU, reported in a later post that its drones struck a Russian oil pumping station near the city of Perm overnight, approximately 1,500 km from Ukraine.
On Tuesday, a Ukrainian drone attack caused a massive fire at a Russian oil refinery in the Black Sea port of Tuapse, marking the third attack on the refinery in less than two weeks.
Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized the attack as evidence of increased Ukrainian strikes on civilian targets.
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry stated that since 2022, when Russia launched its war against the neighboring country, Ukraine has increased the range of its attacks against Russia by 170%.
Ukraine has built up an arsenal of domestically produced long-range weapons following the 2022 invasion.
In February, Ukrainian drones struck the Ukhta refinery in Russia’s Komi region, approximately 1,750 km from the Ukrainian border, regional officials reported.
“It is important that every strike reduces Russia’s military industry capabilities, logistics, and oil exports,” Zelenskyy added.
