What the perpetrator claimed: “I didn’t want to kill any employee, I just wanted to make noise because my issue isn’t being resolved”
During his testimony to the prosecutor, where he was taken early Wednesday morning (29/04), the 89-year-old stated the following: “I didn’t want to kill any employee. If I wanted to kill, I would have shot them, I wouldn’t have shot at the floor, that’s exactly why I shot at the floor and not at them. I just wanted to make noise, because my issue isn’t being resolved”.
And he added: “I took a taxi from EFKA because the taxi that brought me there had left and I went to Loukareos and as soon as I left the first instance court I immediately took a taxi and headed towards Patras initially I thought of going to the KTEL Kifisou, but finally I went to Patras. I thought of buying a ticket to go to Italy. I couldn’t withdraw money from the ATM and finally I was going to travel today I thought at some point maybe I should go to France too because I had filed an appeal and the court didn’t vindicate me to shoot there too in the air inside the Greek section to make a commotion. Finally the police officers came to the hotel and found me. At some point I thought of going to my village in Kalamata to the central square and there have them call the police and come arrest me”.
