Donald Trump has reportedly ordered his associates to prepare for extending the naval blockade of Iran‘s ports, according to the Wall Street Journal. The report states that Donald Trump has chosen to continue the “suffocation” method against Iran’s economy, aiming to further reduce oil exports from the country by blocking ships from entering or leaving ports.
Trump appears to favor indefinite blockade of Iranian ports
The American president believes, according to two officials, that resuming bombing campaigns or withdrawing troops from the region carries greater risk compared to maintaining the naval blockade.
Since Iran and the US agreed to a ceasefire on April 7, Donald Trump has opened diplomatic “channels” several times, but only after previously threatening to destroy Iran and neutralize the country’s leadership. He continues to tighten the grip, seeking to force Iran to halt all nuclear activities to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Currently, according to the same report, Donald Trump feels comfortable with an indefinite blockade, which he wrote on Truth Social Tuesday is pushing Iran toward a “state of collapse.”
A senior American official stated that the blockade is demonstrably crushing Iran’s economy and has triggered a new approach from the regime toward Washington.
